27-09-19 Complete social studies note book- Group 1- Achawit, Arya, Pooyawat Aryans in India and development of Hinduism When did the Aryan first reach India? The Aryans reached India in the 2000’s BC. And they spread all around India. Do they have writing like now we have today? Yes, they do, what we know about Aryans come from collections of religious writings called Vedas. What language did the Aryan speak? The Aryans spoke Sanskrit and memorized poems. Today Sanskrit is the root of many South Asian languages. Was Aryan society was divided into social classes? They were divided into 4 main groups called Varnas. The highest-ranking varna is Brahmins who are priests, then comes Kshatriyas who were rulers and warriors, Vaisyas were commoners and Sudras were laborers and servants. What is the religion of Aryan? The religion of Aryans and was called Brahmanism and the priests are called Brahmins. It was the most important part of ancient India. How did Hinduism develop and what do Hindus believe in? Hinduism is India’s largest religion today. It developed from Brahmanism and other influences. Hindus believe that there are many gods, they also believe that everyone has a soul or atman and the soul will eventually join Brahman. Group no 2- Mahasamut, Sandee, Aurel and Sarisa Buddhism Young prince name Siddhartha Gautama live in a wealthy family But he wondered the pain and the suffering around him, by the age of 30 He left his home and look for the meaning of life, he talked to many priests and wise men but is not satisfied with the answers. He wandered through the forest trying to free himself by fasting and meditating after six years. He came up with an answer to what causes suffering, suffering is caused by wanting what one does not have, and he began to share his ideas and soon called the Buddha. Teaching of Buddhism Buddhism is based upon the Four noble truths. These truths are suffering and unhappiness is part of life from our desire for pleasure and material goods. Buddhism spreads Buddhism spreads quickly throughout India with the help of King Asoka and Buddhist missionaries and were sent to other countries to teach their religious belief. Missionaries introduced Buddhism to Sri Lanka and many other parts of Southeast Asia as well as Central Asia and Persia. Group 3 – Ben, Khang, Kritamate, mew Mauryan Empire When the Aryans ruled India was divided into many states with no central leader. Then in around 300BC, the conquests of Alexander the Great brought much of India to his empire. A guy named Chandragupta Maurya followed his example and seized control of northern India. Then after a while, Chandragupta's grandson got tired of killing and converted to Buddhism. After Asoka died his sons struggled for power and foreign invaders threatened the country. The Mauryan Empire fell in 184 BC Gupta Dynasty During the 300s AD, Gupta Dynasty build the prosperity of India and take over the Indian’s military control. They also encouraged all of Hindu traditions and writing and supported Jainism and Buddhism. They pour money and resources to the border and promote art and literature as well as religion Contributions to the world:

The northern region became independent from China in 1921 with Russia’s help. Mongolia became a communist country in 1924 but in 1990 multiparty elections were held by the people. The Ming Dynasty The Ming dynasty lasted nearly 300 years, from 1368 to 1644. Ming China proved to be one of the most stable and prosperous times in Chinese history.
